The Gathering

IC
Characters: EVERYBODY
Summary: It's been a year since Chaos was defeated and the world was saved. So, naturally, it's time for a reunion party, right?
Location: Lindblum Grand Castle
Date: November 1st, 1806
Style: Up to you!

About two weeks ago, an invitation was sent out via skyphone to all of the sky people of Gaia- and a select few natives, too. It invited everyone to Lindblum, for a one year anniversary celebration of Garland's defeat. Such an event couldn't pass by without a celebration, after all. Yesterday, airships had been sent out to the far corners of the world to pick up everyone and bring them to Lindblum. Even the most reticent and party-hating of adventurers won't be able to avoid this. It is a worldwide celebration. Besides, it's best to celebrate with friends.

The Lindblum castle is covered in decorations for the occasion. Most are plain and themed for the upcoming winter, though for some reason, moogles feature rather prominently. Tables set around the ballroom are covered with snacks and foods, from snowmen to more moogles to- are those cookies shaped like Garland on a chobobo? ... Maybe it's best not to ask.

In the center of the ballroom is a clear space for dancing, and musicians sit off to the side and play for those who want to dance. To the side, there are tables for those who are looking for a simple conversation or who are taking time to eat. And, of course, for those who want to get away from everything for a while, there are always places in Lindblum to slip away to. But why would you want to do that, when everyone is here?

Mjrn nodded, a bit guiltily at that. "I am sorry. My wanderlust ought be better-timed. But yes, I am very well. Lindblum agrees with me." And a certain thespian. "And you, Sister? Where did you roam?"

The blame was not solely on Mjrn. Fran hadn't done the best of jobs at keeping in touch with people. "I go where the skies takes me." She never stayed in one place long. To be honest, she still hadn't really found the place she belonged, other than the sky.

"Are you still enjoying the company of the Thespian thief"?

Jote rarely strayed from her Wood, Fran was ever-rootless...and Mjrn had found somewhere in-between. A fitting fate for the sister, perhaps. That question made her smile, a bit self-conscious but genuine. "Aye, that I am. That has not changed, nor do I anticipate such. And with Chit and Mistral, our household is complete." Kain's dragon's hatchling had occupied so much of her time in the past year, but she regretted none of it. After caring for her, the dragon is as her own child.

Fran had been unsure of the man at first. He had a roving eye and a slick, charming tongue - he reminded her far too much of Balthier, and she was worried he would hurt Mjrn and break her heart. Luckily she had been wrong and she had warmed to him.

"It is good to see you happy. Shall we be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet any time soon?"

Mjrn's widened eyes were likely enough response to that. "I...I have had no thought to such, not yet. Raising a dragon in this past year has been challenge enough. Are you so eager to be an aunt?" Unless being an aunt to a cockatrice and a dragon counted, which Mjrn totally thought it did.

Cockatrices and dragons totally counted, but it was so hard to train them as sky pirates... Another smile graced Fran. "I am in no hurry, I have time to wait. But do not take too long, I shall need a little one to follow in my footsteps should I retire."

Relief. Mjrn still felt too young for such responsibility, beyond what she already had. There was time enough for such things, at least to her point of view. "An apprentice, then? Perhaps such a fate will be yours, one day. We shall see, Sister."

As long as she doesn't leave it too long, Blank will be too old to chase after bitties if she does. Fran doesn't bring it up though. It's hard enough to love someone with a much shorter lifespan without people constantly drawing attention to it. Besides, it's a party! Time for celebrating.

"Perhaps. We shall see what fate brings our way."
