Summary: It's been a year since Chaos was defeated and the world was saved. So, naturally, it's time for a reunion party, right?

About two weeks ago, an invitation was sent out via skyphone to all of the sky people of Gaia- and a select few natives, too. It invited everyone to Lindblum, for a one year anniversary celebration of Garland's defeat. Such an event couldn't pass by without a celebration, after all. Yesterday, airships had been sent out to the far corners of the world to pick up everyone and bring them to Lindblum. Even the most reticent and party-hating of adventurers won't be able to avoid this. It is a worldwide celebration. Besides, it's best to celebrate with friends.

The Lindblum castle is covered in decorations for the occasion. Most are plain and themed for the upcoming winter, though for some reason, moogles feature rather prominently. Tables set around the ballroom are covered with snacks and foods, from snowmen to more moogles to- are those cookies shaped like Garland on a chobobo? ... Maybe it's best not to ask.

In the center of the ballroom is a clear space for dancing, and musicians sit off to the side and play for those who want to dance. To the side, there are tables for those who are looking for a simple conversation or who are taking time to eat. And, of course, for those who want to get away from everything for a while, there are always places in Lindblum to slip away to. But why would you want to do that, when everyone is here?

Cecil is in something of a trollish mood, because he stands behind Golbez and peers over his shoulder at the tome, without so much as announcing he's there. Of course, none of the book makes sense to Cecil, whose magical knowledge is limited at best and based only in white magic -- mostly he thought it would be amusing to sneak up on him.

After a few minutes, if Golbez doesn't notice him first, he enquires mildly, "Reading anything interesting, brother?"

With his guard relatively down at the party, Golbez doesn't see Cecil the moment he approaches, absorbed in his book as he is. The sneaking helps too. Still, there's always that lunarian connection, so when Cecil finally does speak, Golbez isn't startled.

"Somewhat." He turns to face his brother, bookmarking his place and then setting the spellbook aside. "But not so interesting that I would turn down a conversation with you, brother. It's been far too long."

"It has," Cecil smiles, inviting himself to take a seat beside him. Nothing ever does get past Golbez, so he shouldn't be too surprised his sneak attempt failed. He'll just make a mental note to try harder next time.

"Care to try this wine? It's some of Treno's finest, or so I've been told." He offers the glass he'd been drinking from. It wouldn't hurt for Golbez to loosen up a little, after all. "I know remaining in Troia didn't suit you, but you're always welcome to drop by and say hello, you know."

It probably wouldn't, but Golbez still gives Cecil a look as he takes the glass. Nevertheless, he'll take a sip, for Cecil. "It is good, he comments, before setting the glass down. He'll take a couple more sips over the course of the conversation, but he isn't focused on it. Wine and black mages don't always go well, and besides, why be distracted by wine when he has his brother to talk to?

"I know." He takes another sip of the wine. "In fact, I was considering returning with you once this celebration is over, if you would not mind it."

Cecil plays oblivious to the look. Really, brother, you do need to relax. At the offer to return with him, though, he goes from surprised to happy all at once. "Truly? I would like that a great deal -- if you wished to. I would not force you." Or guilt him into it, even if he did miss Golbez whenever he disappeared. "Perhaps I can persuade Ceodore to return with us, as well."

"I offered, did I not? I would be glad to visit with you and Rosa, for a time. I have been gone long enough." He smiles himself, at how happy Cecil looks at the possibility. "Ceodore, as well."
