The Gathering

IC
Characters: EVERYBODY
Summary: It's been a year since Chaos was defeated and the world was saved. So, naturally, it's time for a reunion party, right?
Location: Lindblum Grand Castle
Date: November 1st, 1806
Style: Up to you!

About two weeks ago, an invitation was sent out via skyphone to all of the sky people of Gaia- and a select few natives, too. It invited everyone to Lindblum, for a one year anniversary celebration of Garland's defeat. Such an event couldn't pass by without a celebration, after all. Yesterday, airships had been sent out to the far corners of the world to pick up everyone and bring them to Lindblum. Even the most reticent and party-hating of adventurers won't be able to avoid this. It is a worldwide celebration. Besides, it's best to celebrate with friends.

The Lindblum castle is covered in decorations for the occasion. Most are plain and themed for the upcoming winter, though for some reason, moogles feature rather prominently. Tables set around the ballroom are covered with snacks and foods, from snowmen to more moogles to- are those cookies shaped like Garland on a chobobo? ... Maybe it's best not to ask.

In the center of the ballroom is a clear space for dancing, and musicians sit off to the side and play for those who want to dance. To the side, there are tables for those who are looking for a simple conversation or who are taking time to eat. And, of course, for those who want to get away from everything for a while, there are always places in Lindblum to slip away to. But why would you want to do that, when everyone is here?

"The Wood bade me come and bring her tidings," Jote answered, stopping close by her sister. She was glad to see Mjrn, for all that their relationship had always been a little rocky. Still, the opportunity to reclaim Mjrn as a sister through the Wood wasn't something she would give up easily. And besides that, the Wood herself had asked for news of the outside. If She were to be uprooted again, She wanted to know.

"Particularly of Her people."

Mjrn, who didn't feel she deserved to count herself as one of the Wood's people any longer, was still touched to hear that. And knowing that it was possible to keep a relationship with both her sisters is all she'd ever wanted. It wasn't ideal, but it was likely the best they were going to get and she wasn't going to take that for granted.

"May all those tidings be of good fortune. To my knowledge, there are none who seek to threaten Her, or Gaia at large. Such times seem to be in the past, and may they remain so."

Jote preferred this change to the stance the Wood had kept previously. This meant she could at least see her sisters - and call them that - without worry for the Wood's reaction.

"She will be happy for that news," Jote responded. "Gaia changes as Ivalice did. No longer are we so separated, one from the other." No longer did the Wood expect Viera to live forever apart from the Humes.

For that, Mjrn was grateful. It meant the burden on her shoulders for leaving as she did was lifted, that her ideal of a middle path for the viera could be a reality. And with Jote to lead the way, she knew the viera and the Wood were in good hands.

"It is all I could have wished for, Jote. Have you yet seen Fran?"
withthewood: (Make room for this feeling)

Jote nodded once. "I have. She seemed as you to hear of the Wood's new laws."

Happy and yet Fran hadn't seemed willing to believe that she would be welcome at all in the Wood again. Old ideals and beliefs would be difficult for all of them to deal with and adjust to.
